Shady Spring 6, Greenbrier East 5
Fairlea – Shady Spring scored two runs in the seventh inning to beat Greenbrier East 6-5 Thursday evening in Fairlea.
Evan Belcher went 1 for 3 for the Tigers at the plate, driving in two of their six runs and scoring two more. Adam Richmond and Jacob Meadows each finished with two hits, both hitting doubles.
Greenbrier East mustered just three hits but was able to draw seven walks against Shady starter Alex Johnston.
Cameron Manns picked up the win for Shady, striking out three in an inning of work.
Greenbrier East drops to 2-2 and will travel to Cabell Midland on Friday. Shady Spring improves to 3-0 and will also be on the road Friday at Princeton.
