Princeton 84, Greenbrier East 81 (OT)
Fairlea – Princeton entered Friday’s contest knowing a win would secure a home game in the opening round of sectional play.
After a late administrative technical foul for an error in the scorebook nearly cost them the win in regulation, the Tigers bounced back for a 84-81 win in overtime.
Kris Joyce led five Tigers in double-figures with 21 points. Koen Sartin followed closely with 18 points, including seven in the overtime period. Chase Hancock added 13 points, while Grant Cochran scored 12 and Nik Fleming added 10.
Kaiden Huffman led all scorers for East with 24 points and Monquelle Davis scored 19. Adam Seams finished with 16 and Goose Gabbert added 12.
The win by Princeton solidifies the seeding for AAAA Region 3 Section 2. East will be the No. 1 seed, followed by Princeton, Beckley and Oak Hill, respectively.
