Princeton 68, Beckley 67
Beckley – Princeton’s Gavin Stover converted on the game-winning layup with under 10 seconds left as Princeton squeaked out a 68-67 win over Beckley in the Class AAAA Region 3, Section 2 tournament Tuesday, eliminating the Flying Eagles and ending their season.
Kris Joyce led Princeton with 12 points and E.J. Washington added 11. Chase Hancock rounded out the double-figure scorers with 10.
Elijah Redfern led Beckley with a game-high 29 points while Maddex McMillen produced 14 in the final game of his career.
Beckley finishes the season with a 5-17, the worst in program history, minimum 10 games.
Princeton advances to Friday’s championship game at Greenbrier East, having already secured a spot in next week’s regional co-final.
