Summersville – Summit Christian Academy exploded out of the gate for a 51-19 halftime lead and cruised past Trinity Christian 85-37 Tuesday at the Winter Classic inside the Summersville Arena and Conference Center.
M.J. Patton poured in 32 points to lead the Falcons (9-1) along with handing out seven assists and grabbing five rebounds.
Kyler Carpenter added 17 points, while Chance Watkins had a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Eli Patton had 11 points, six assists and five rebounds.
Nathan Lewis and Harlem Jackson led Trinity with 11 points each.

Charleston – Beckley rolled past Capital 69-48 Tuesday afternoon led by a double-double from Jaylon Walton and Coby Dillon.
Walton scored a team-high 22 points and grabbed 13 rebounds, while Dillon netted 15 points and had 10 assists.
Zyon Hawthorne added 18 points, while Preston Clary scored eight points and grabbed eight rebounds.
Midland Trail 52, Clay-Battelle 48
Summersville – Midland Trail knocked down eight 3-pointers and shot 80 percent from the foul line to defeat Clay-Battelle 52-48 at the Winter Classic in the Summersville Arena and Conference Center.
Peyton Bailes led three Patriots (5-1) in double figures with 25, while Levi Skaggs added 11 and Thad Brown scored 10. Cam Thomas had five.
Preston Luzander led the CeeBees with 25 and Cooper Peyton added 10.
Midland Trail has now won five games in a row.

Summersville – St. Joseph Central outscored Nicholas County 24-3 in the third quarter to defeat the Grizzlies 69-58 at the Winter Classic played in the Summersville Arena and Conference Center.
Noak Keaton led the Irish with 28 points and Miciah Ehirim added 19.
Maverick Smith and Trey Stump had 15 points apiece for Nicholas County (2-2), while Isaiah Miner added 13 and Isaac Miner had 10.
The Grizzlies travel to Clay County Saturday.
