Sam Boothe scored a game-high 29 points, canning five 3-pointers as Mercer Christian topped Roanoke Valley Christian 80-29 Monday night in the Jefferson Christian Academy Christmas Tournament.
MJ Patton, Shaye Basham and Tanner Keathley all joined Boothe in double figures in the in.
Jeremy Chou led Roanoke Valley with 14 points.
The Cavaliers will return to action Tuesday when they play Jefferson Christian at 8 p.m. in the second round of the tournament.
