Independence 76, Greater Beckley Christian 59

Cyrus Goodson scored 37 points and Corey Shumate had a double-double to lead Independence past Greater Beckley Christian 76-59 Tuesday.

Shumate scored 10 points, had 13 rebounds and four blocks, while Goodson also grabbed seven rebounds.

Colton Hughes added 10 points for the Patriots.

John Rose matched Goodson’s output for the Crusaders and Averyk Woodson scored seven.

Gardner – PikeView used a big third quarter output to slip past Midland Trail 74-71 Tuesday.

David Thomas scored 20 points to lead four Panthers in double figures. Drew Damewood and Nathan Riffe scored 13 points apiece, while Braeden Harvey added 10 and Brett Samosky scored nine.

Eli Campbell paced the Patriots with 20 points including nine makes from behind the arc. Matt Light followed closely with 19 points and Jaden Gladwell scored eight.

Oak Hill – Class A No. 1 James Monroe exploded for 59 points in the first half and rolled past Meadow Bridge 111-38 Tuesday in a game played at Oak Hill High School.

Eli Allen led the Mavericks with 26 points and Josh Burks followed with 21 points.

Cooper Ridgeway added 13 points, while Brady Baker and Evan Hunter scored 10 points apiece.

Hinton – The Bobcats took a six-point lead after one-quarter and made it stand for a 59-53 win over Liberty Tuesday.

Cruz Testerman led Summers with 18 points, while Brandon Isaac added 15 and Ryan Oliveras scored 12.

Conner Cantley led the Raiders with 19. Zach Bowman added 12 and Jadon Acord chipped in 10 for Liberty.

New Richmond – Class AA No. 6 Wyoming East struggled from the foul line Tuesday night and fell to regional rival Chapmanville, 60-47 at home.

The Warriors made just 11 of their 24 charity attempts and missed six in the crucial final period.

Cole Lambert led East with 14 points, while Garrett Mitchell scored 12 and Bryson Huff added 10.

Sal Dean poured in 24 for AA No. 3 ranked Tigers and Zion Blevins scored 15. Brody Dalton chipped in 11 points.
