Webster County 79, Meadow Bridge 31
Oak Hill – Top-seed Webster County raced out to a commanding lead in the first quarter and cruised past Meadow Bridge in the opening round of Class A Region 3, Section 2 play Tuesday.
Conner Bell led the Highlanders with 16 points, while Dakota Blankenship scored 14, Rye Gadd added 13 and Rayden Triplett had 11.
Rian Cooper led the Wildcats with nine.
Webster County plays No. 2 seed Greenbrier West Thursday for the sectional championship at 7 p.m. at Oak Hill High School.

Oak Hill – Chase McClung scored 23 points as Greenbrier West avoided an upset with a 71-65 win over Richwood Tuesday in the Class A Region 3, Section 1 tournament at Oak Hill.
Michale Kanode added 12 in the in while Brayden McClung scored 10.
Cooper Donahue led Richwood with 19 in the loss.
Greenbrier West advances to Thursday’s championship game where it will face Webster County at Oak Hill. Tipoff is slated for 7 p.m.

Greater Beckley Christian 59, Mount View 56
Welch – Greater Beckley Christian outscored Mount View by 11 points in the final quarter for a 59-56 come from behind win on the road.
Kaden Smallwood and Kendrick Wilson led the Crusaders with 19 points apiece.
Smallwood scored 10 in the decisive quarter including all eight free throw attempts, while Wilson scored seven in the final period.
John Rose also came up big for Greater Beckley in the final eight minutes scoring eight of his 13 points. Sean-David Kadjo scored eight points on the night.
Brendon Rotenberry led the Golden Knights with 17 points and Tony Bailey scored 15. Justin Haggerty scored 11.
Mount View made just five of its 17 attempts from the charity stripe and was a meager three-for-12 in the fourth quarter.
Greater Beckley Christian will play James Monroe Thursday at 7 p.m. for the Class A Region 3, Section 1 crown.
The championship game will be played at Bluefield State College.

Lindside – Class A No. 1 James Monroe exploded for 31 points in the third quarter and rolled past River View 88-43 Thursday in Region 3, Section 1 action.
Eli Allen led the charge for the Mavericks with 20 points and Shad Sauvage scored 19 including the 300th 3-pointer of his high school career.
Josh Burks made four long balls and had 14 points and Cameron Thomas scored eight.
Daniel Dobbs led the Raiders with 10 points.
James Monroe and Greater Beckley square off for the sectional championship Thursday at 7 p.m. at Bluefield State College.

Fairlea – Adam Seams scored 14 points Tuesday as Greenbrier East defeated Oak Hill 48-34 in the Class AAAA Region 3, Section 2 semifinal, eliminating the Red Devils and advancing to the title game in the process.
Goose Gabbert canned three triples to add 13 points in the win.
Jacob Perdue led Oak Hill with 12 while Trevor Kelly added 11.
East will host Princeton on Friday in the championship game with a home regional game on the line. Tipoff is slated for 7 p.m.
