The Beckley boys soccer team journeyed to the Eastern Panhandle and pitched back-to-back shutouts, moving its record to 8-1-2 on the season.
Friday night in the 5-0 win against the Eagles, five different Flying Eagles scored including A.J. Bishop, Ali Farghaly, Hagen Hall, Coby Dillon and Jackson Schroder.
Tyler Snyder recorded two assists in the win, while Hall, Farghaly and Schroder had one assist each. Bryson Doss had one save.
Saturday morning, Beckley blanked the Patriots 3-0 paced by two goals from Dillon and one from Snyder. Farghaly, Jackson Gray and Ayden Stafford had one assists each. Doss recorded three saves.
The weekend work for the Flying Eagles runs its win streak to eight matches, while recorded six clean sheets over that stretch.
Beckley battles regional rival George Washington in Charleston Tuesday.
Shady Spring 2, Point Pleasant 0
Point Pleasant – Nathan Vecellio scored a goal and assisted on the second netter to lead Shady Spring past defending Class AA/A state champion Point Pleasant 2-0 Saturday.
Vecellio broke the scoreless tie with a goal in the 43 minute before assisting on Evan Rivera’s goal in the 55th minute.
Shady Spring (9-2-1) hosts James Monroe Tuesday at 7:30 a.m.
