CLEAR FORK – Saturday was a historic day for Woodrow Wilson cross country at the Westside Invitational.
Kyndall Ince won her first high school race and Aiden Kneeland set a new course record to lead the Flying Eagles to a win on both the girls and boys side.
The Woodrow Wilson girls placed all five runners in the top-10 to win a tight battle with Shady Spring by 11 points, while the boys took a 17-point win over PikeView.
Cecilia Lindley followed Ince home in second place and Lauren Curtis was fourth overall. Hannah Keiling was sixth and Madison Farrish crossed the line in 10th place for Woodrow.
The McGinnis sisters led the charge for the Tigers with Charlotte taking third place and Gwynn finishing fifth. Braylie Wiseman was seventh for the Tigers, while Journey Wisthoff was ninth and Abby Honaker was 11th.
The only runner inside the top-10 that was not from Shady or Woodrow was Laicey Necessary from PikeView who ran eighth.
One year ago this weekend, Kneeland was capturing his first high victory. Saturday he was besting the field at Westside by nearly 90 seconds while setting the course record.
Kneeland’s teammates, Robert Shirey, Michael Haddadin and Jonah Morgan finished fifth through seventh, respectively, while Mason Nettles was 17th to round out the top five scorers for the Flying Eagles.
PikeView was led by Braden Ward in second place and Matt Murphy in fourth place.
