Meadow Bridge – Dustin Adkins threw for 186 yards and two touchdowns as Meadow Bridge defeated Class A No. 15 Sherman 22-14 Friday night in Meadow Bridge.
With Meadow Bridge up 6-0 at the break, the visiting Tide tied the game at 14 all late in the third quarter. Needing a win to keep their playoff hopes alive, the Wildcats rallied.
With 1:40 left in the contest Adkins connected with Conner Mullins for a 25-yard touchdown pass and hit Seaton Mullins on the ensuing conversion attempt to give the Wildcats the lead for good.
Rian Cooper was the Wildcats’ leading receiver with there catches for 75 yards but made. bigger impact on the defensive side of the ball where he intercepted three passes.
The Wildcats improve to 5-4 and will host No. 7 Gilmer County on Friday with a Class A playoff berth on the line.
