Prep Football: Cast your vote for the Week 11 Player of the Week

The Lootpress Player of the Week Award sponsored by Mid-State Ford, Little General and The Law Offices of Brandon Steele has returned.

Below are the candidates for the 11th and final week of the prep football season. Voting will close Tuesday at 4 P.M. and be announced on the Lootpress Sports Lowdown show which can be seen here. The fan vote will be used in the event of a tie. Please read that sentence again. The poll determines the Community Choice winner and is used in the event of a tiebreaker. It DOES NOT determine the overall Player of the Week winner. There are also changes to the Player of the Week voting pertaining to the top overall vote getter that you can read about here.

The top overall vote getter will advance to our Community Choice poll at the end of the regular season where the winner of that poll will receive a $500 scholarship.

In order for a player to be eligible or nominated, the stat keeper or coach must report all scores and statistics. Scores can be reported to [email protected] and [email protected].

• Bryce Ford, Beckley – Ford rushed for 92 yards, scoring a touchdown as Beckley gutted out. 14-12 win over George Washington.
• Brock Green, Independence – Green threw for 315 yards with five touchdown passes as Independence beat Summers County 57-14.
• Jaxson Workman, Liberty – Workman threw for 159 yards with two touchdown passes as Liberty beat Wyoming East 20-15.
• Coltin Lester, Westside – Lester set the program’s single-game receiving yards record with 175 yards and two touchdowns in a win over Mount View.
• Devin Nash, Nicholas County – Nash rushed 22 times for 119 yards and a touchdown, adding three receptions for 63 yards and another score.
• Jake Belcher, Princeton – Belcher caught four passes for 65 yards including the final two passes of the game for 48 yards and the game-tying Hail Mary score.
• Jaylen Younger, Montcalm – Younger capped his high school career with 305 yards passing and four touchdown passes in a 46-6 victory over Bland, Va.
• Devin Richardson, Oak Hill – Richardson threw for 273 yards and a touchdown, adding 77 yards on the ground as Oak Hill secured a home playoff game with a win at University.
• Ryan Mann, James Monroe – Mann finished with 53 yards from scrimmage, adding a 10-yard interception return touchdown in a 28-20 win over Bluefield.
