Prep Football: Cast your vote for the Week 5 Kanawha Valley Player of the Week!

The Lootpress Player of the Week Award sponsored by Dutch Miller Auto Group has arrived in the Kanawha Valley!

Over the last two years, we at Lootpress have elected a Player of the Week winner in the southern coalfields. This year we’re expanding to give the Kanawha Valley (Boone, Kanawha and Putnam counties) its own poll with its own players to choose from. For the southern coalfields poll, click here.

Below are the candidates for the first week of the prep football season. Voting will close Tuesday at 11:59 P.M. The fan vote will be used in the event of a tie. There are also changes to the Player of the Week voting pertaining to the top overall vote getter that you can read about here.

The top overall vote getter will advance to our Community Choice poll at the end of the regular season where the winner of that poll will receive a $500 scholarship.

Matt Frye, Scott – Frye threw for 346 yards, adding five passing touchdowns to his ledger in addition to 34 yards and another score on the ground.
Easton Pinkerton, Winfield -Pinkerton rushed for 100 yards and a touchdown on nine carries while also completing four passes for 69 yards and another score.
Noah Vellaithambi, Hurricane – Vellaithambi ran for 18 yards and a touchdown on two carries, completed four passes for 65 yards and three touchdowns and caught a touchdown pass for good measure.
Abe Fenwick, George Washington – Fenwick completed all eight of his passing attempts for 200 yards, tossing six touchdown passes in the process.
Blake Fisher, Herbert Hoover – Fisher turned 11 totes into 88 yards and two touchdowns in Hoover’s victory at Sissonville Friday.
Malachi Thompson, Nitro -Thomspon hauled in seven passes for 189 and three touchdowns in Nitro’s win.
