The Class AA playoff schedule was released Sunday morning with several games taking place across Friday and Saturday.
Locally No. 2 Independence is the highest seed and will host as long as it remains alive. The first test will be against rival Shady Spring, a game set for a 7:30 kickoff on Friday. No. 14 Bluefield will travel to No. 3 Point Pleasant On Saturday at 1:30. The two programs last met in the 2017 quarterfinals, a 49-17 win for the Beavers.
No. 12 Liberty will travel to No. 5 Poca on Friday for a 7:30 kickoff and No. 7 Nicholas County will host No. 10 Roane County, also on Friday at 7:30. Last but not least No. 9 Scott will travel to Clarksburg on Friday to take on No. 8 RCB.
Aside from Bluefield-Point Pleasant, the only other Saturday game in Class AA features No. 16 Fairmont Senior traveling to No. 1 Herbert Hoover.
