Greenbrier East 34, Shady Spring 21
Greenbrier East ran out to a 21-0 lead at halftime and held on to beat Class AAA No. 11 Shady Spring 34-21 at H.B. Thomas Field.
Brady May led the Spartans with 125 yards on the ground and had four touchdown runs. Brody Hamric threw for 197 yards and another score to Jy Green.
Cal Culicerto passed for 224 yards to pace the Tigers with three touchdown strikes. Nate Easley was on the end of two tosses, while Jacob Kubow had the other score.
Greenbrier East (2-3) travels to Oak Hill (4-1) next Friday, while Shady Spring (3-2) hosts Liberty (2-4).
