CHARMCO – Class A No. 7 (tie) Greenbrier West scored 20 first quarter points and rolled past Moorefield 47-0 Friday night.
The Cavaliers defense held Moorefield to 130 yards of total offense, recording its seventh shutout of the season.
Ty Nickell rushed for 228 yards and scored four touchdowns to lead the scoring barrage for West, giving Nickell over 1,800 yards in the regular season.
Dalton Heath opened the scoring for the home team on a 5-yard scoop and score off a Moorefield fumble. Tucker Lilly hit Ethan Holliday on a 60-yard scoring strike and Kadin Parker capped the scoring on a six-yard run.
Nickell scored on runs of 61 and 52 yards in the first quarter, before adding touchdowns from one and four yards out.
Greenbrier West is safely in the state football playoffs and will learn officially who they play this Sunday.
