Logan – The Herbert Hoover Huskies traveled down the Corridor G, coming away with a 56-14 win over Logan Friday.
Hoover drove the field on its first drive, taking the lead on a one-yard score by Dane Hatfield.
The Huskies and Wildcats traded scores on a couple of short touchdowns runs and 1 7-yard pass to tie it the game at 14.
Afterwards Hoover hit the gas, scoring the next 42 points.
With 6:41 left in the half, Marquise Walker intercepted the ball, setting Hatfield up on a long run that ended with a late hit out of bounds. With the ball on the 5, Hatfield scored his third touchdown of the half to go up 28-14. On the ensuing drive, Hatfield struck on defense, picking off a pass around the Wildcat 30 and returning it 70 yards for another score.
With the Huskies receiving the ball on the 2nd half kickoff, Rocco Frye, Randy Hughart, Jacob Burns added scores in the win.
Hoover improves to 7-2 while Logan drops to 6-4.Both teams are projected to make the playoffs.
