Poca – The only disappointment amongst the Independence faithful Friday was that their Patriots surrendered points.
Independence jumped out to a 36-0 lead after a quarter, ultimately beating Poca 70-8 in Poca.
Judah Price carried the ball 18 times for 226 yards, scoring three times and finding the end zone four times on two-point conversion attempts. Trey Bowers was 12-of-13 passing for 129 yards and two touchdowns, picking up 64 yards and scoring twice more with his legs. His top receiver, Cyrus Goodson, registered six catches for 97 yards and a score to round out the win. for good measure Tyler Linkswiler picked up 101 yards on 11 carries.
The game marks the first time Indy has allowed an opponent to score this season though the Patriots still hold a 170-8 advantage through their first three contests.
Independence improves to 3-0 on the season and will travel to Shady Spring next Friday.
