On Monday, both James Monroe and Richwood were both forced to postpone their respective games scheduled for Friday Sept. 3. Both teams announced the decisions through their respective social media pages.
For Richwood the postponement is the second of the season after the Lumberjacks were forced to postpone their Week 1 contest against Webster County due to COVID. Their Week 2 matchup against Meadow Bridge will now be played on Oct. 19.
As for James Monroe, the postponement comes after the Mavericks were limited to just four games in 2020 due to the amount of COVID cases in Monroe County. The Mavericks were scheduled to play Pendleton County on Friday. It was also announced that the school will be on remote learning until Sept. 7.
The news also spells the postponement/cancelation of other athletic activities involving the school including volleyball.
Mavericks Update:
The game against Pendleton County on Friday September 3rd, has now been postponed due to Covid relations. Also, Monroe County Schools will be remote until September 7th with a reevaluation on the 6th.
Will provide more updates on schedule soon.
