Franklin – Layton Dowdy threw the lone touchdown of the game to Nicklas Pitzer as the James Monroe went on the road and beat Pendleton County 6-0 Friday night in Franklin.
Dowdy was 4-of-8 passing for 61 yards, also picking up 45 yards with his legs Friday evening. Cooper Ridgeway ran the ball 18 times for 75 yards. Pitzer’s touchdown catch was a 38-yard reception.
James Monroe improves to 2-0 and will be on a bye next week before traveling to Meadow Bridge on Sept. 16.
