Meadow Bridge 26, Pocahontas County 18
Meadow Bridge – Junior tailback Kaiden Sims exploded for 304 yards on 21 carries and scored three times to lead Meadow Bridge (2-0) past Pocahontas County 26-18 Friday night.
After receiving a forfeit win in week one over Van who did not have enough healthy players, Sims kicked the season off with a 60-yard touchdown run.
An 89-yard gallop in the second quarter increased the lead to 14-0 for the Wildcats where the game stood at the halftime.
Sims scored recorded the hat trick in the third quarter on a 10-yard burst for a 20-0 lead before the Warriors made the game interesting.
Hayden Moore returned the ensuing kick-off 70 yards for a score and found paydirt again in the final quarter on a three-yard run.
Leading 20-12, Meadow Bridge received some breathing room when Bow Wykle rolled in from 15 yards out for a 26-12 advantage.
The Warriors answered with a 64-yard touchdown pass from Gavin Delair to Devon Burgess, but the visitors could get no closer.
