PARKERSBURG- Following its win over Class AA No. 7 Roane County, the Doddridge County Bulldogs have rose to the top of the Class A playoff ratings released Tuesday afternoon by the West Virginia Secondary Schools Activities Commision.
The Bulldogs 28-point victory over the Raiders was enough to supplant Cameron, who previously held the top spot. The Dragons fall to number two with East Hardy third and Mount View and Ritchie County tied for fourth in Class A.
Moorefield is sixth followed by Gilmer County and James Monroe tied for seventh, Williamstown is ranked ninth and Trinity Christian of Morgantown is rated 10th. Greenbrier West is up to 11th, Wheeling Central 12th, Madonna 13th, Sherman 14th and Clay-Battelle and Tyler Consolidated tied for 15th.
Just outside the top 16 is Van holding down the 17th spot, Pocahontas County and St. Marys are tied for 18th and River View 20th.
Martinsburg is number one in Class AAA with Huntington ranked second followed by Cabell Midland in third, Bridgeport fourth and Jefferson and University tied for fifth.
Princeton is seventh, Spring Valley eighth, Greenbrier East ninth with George Washington and South Charleston tied for 10th. Hurricane is up to 12th, John Marshall checks in at 13 with Morgantown ranked 14th, Wheeling Park 15th and Spring Mills 16th.
The rest of the top 20 has Washington ranked 17th, Brooke 18th, Lincoln County 19th and Parkersburg South 20th.
Poca occupies the top spot in Class AA for the second consecutive week. Herbert Hoover is second with Independence third, Lincoln fourth and Point Pleasant fifth.
North Marion is sixth followed by Nicholas County seventh, Roane County eighth, Liberty (Raleigh) ninth and Frankfort 10th. Robert C. Byrd is 11th, Keyser is 12th, Grafton 13th, Logan 14th and Scott and Winfield tied for 15th.
Rounding out the top 20 in Class AA is Bluefield 17th, Shady Spring 18th, Berkeley Springs 19th and East Fairmont 20th.
