Nicholas County 42, Shady Spring 16
Summersville – Nicholas County rebounded from a Week 1 loss to Oak Hill, scoring 28 straight points to beat Shady Spring 42-16 in Summersville Friday.
A week after having his 11-game streak of 100 yards rushing snapped, Nicholas running back Kaleb Clark made up for it with 220 yards on 25 carries and three touchdowns. Teammates Brycen Morriston was also a wrecker on the ground, carrying the ball 14 times for 149 yards and a touchdown.
Shady’s Brady Green was 7-of-22 passing with 292 yards and two touchdowns with an interception. Tyler Mackey was his big-play receiver, collecting three passes for 154 yards and a score. Adam Richmond caught two passes for 130 yards and another score for the Tigers.
Nicholas improves to 1-1 and will travel to Wyoming East while Shady drops to 0-2 and will travel to Summers County next week.
