Meadow Bridge – Greenbrier West running back Ty Nickell ran the ball 20 times, picking up 213 yards and three touchdowns as Greenbrier West beat Meadow Bridge 51-12 Friday night in Meadow Bridge.
The Cavs jumped out to an early 13-0 lead before the Wildcats stormed back to make it a 19-12 game at the break.
Afterwards it was all West as the visitors scored five times in the second half to pull away.
Nickell was effective as a receiver as well, catching three passes for 33 yards and a fourth score. Chase McClung led all receivers with three catches for 55 yards and a score.
West quarterback Cole Vandall completed nine of his 11 passing attempts for 141 yards and two touchdowns in the win.
Of note, one of Nickell’s three rushing touchdowns came on a 98-yard run, breaking the record for longets touchdown run in program history.
Meadow Bridge quarterback Dustin Adkins was 13-of-30 passing for 157 yards and two touchdowns.
West improves to 4-1 and will host James Monroe on Friday while Meadow Bridge drops to 1-3 and will host Webster County.
