Class AA No. 3 Independence scored 11 touchdowns Friday, beating Man 74-7 in Coal City to improve to 6-0 on the season.
Atticus Goodson (215 yards) and Judah Price (136) each rushed for over 100 yards and scored three touchdowns each in the win.
As a team, Independence rolled up 578 yards rushing with six different players scoring touchdowns. Of the Patriots’ 41 rushes on the evening, 24 went for first downs.
In the passing game QB Logan Phalin completed five passes for 54 yards, connecting with Trey Bowers for the host’s only passing touchdown of the game.
The Patriots will return to action Friday when they travel to Nicholas County in a clash between two of the top five teams in Class AA.
