Princeton 49, Lincoln County 0
Hamlin – The 18-hour wait was worth it for Princeton.
After a postponement Friday night due to high water in the Hamlin area, the Tigers opened their season with a 49-0 victory at Lincoln County Saturday afternoon.
The win gives new head coach Keith Taylor the first victory of his career after taking over for Chris Pedigo this past winter.
Chance Barker excelled in his first start at QB in replacement of four-year starter Grant Cochran, completing 17 of 23 passes for 263 yards and three scores.
Senior receiver Dom Collins had a standout all-around game, finding the end zone four times with 206 all-purpose yards in the win. Sophomore receiver Brad Mossor added 184 scrimmage yards with 97 on the ground and 109 through the air while Marquel Lowe turned in a 140-yard rushing performance.
The Tigers return home next week to host county rival Bluefield.
