CLEAR FORK – A fourth quarter touchdown was the difference Friday night as Tug Valley defeated Westside 29-22 at the Burial Ground.
The Panthers had never beaten the Renegades in four previous meetings withstood a late Renegade rally that included a 70-yard Jaxon Cogar touchdown that was negated by a block in the back penalty.
Westside never regrouped and Tug Valley escaped with its third victory of the season.
Cogar threw for 156 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 154 yards in a losing cause. Hansel Bledsoe and Kaiden Vance each had a touchdown reception for the Renegades, who dressed only 16 players.
Bledsoe caught eight passes for 129 yards and blocked a Tug Valley field goal attempt.
Westside falls to 1-8 on the season and will travel to Class A No. 4 Mount View next Friday to close out the 2021 season.
Tug Valley improves to 3-4 and will travel to Clay County Tuesday night before traveling to Man Friday night.
