Greenbrier East has been on fire to open the 2022 high school golf season.
Thursday evening at Grandview Country Club the Spartans continued their winning ways besting Shady Spring. Nicholas County, Woodrow Wilson, Independence, Princeton and Oak Hill in a nine-hole match.
Anthony “Arod” Lemons led the field with a 2-under par round of 34, while teammates Jake Honaker and Isaac Cantrell shot 38 and 40 respectively.
Tanner Vest from Shady Spring was two shots back of Lemons with an even-par round of 36, while Ian Thompson from Woodrow Wilson and Ben March from Nicholas County each carded a 37. Tyler Beard also had a solid round of 39 for the Tigers.
Ian Maynor from Oak Hill and Virgil Ellison from Princeton each led their teams with a 41. Cody Blake was low-man for the Patriots with a 42.
