Huntington – Shady Spring came home second Tuesday afternoon at the Duke Ridgely Invitational played at Guyan Country Club.
The only team to top the 2023 Class AA state runner-up Tigers was Class AAA Hurricane led by individual state runner-up Jack Michael. Michael was the low medalist with a 69 on the par-71 layout.
Cooper Ward led the Raleigh County boys with a one-under par 70, while Tyler Beard followed closely with a even-par 71. Jack Williams rounded out the team total for Shady Spring with an 83.
Ward and Beard were also named to the All-Tournament team.
Class AAA state runner-up Hurricane tied for third place with Parkersburg South. Class AA defending state champion Winfield was 10th.
Shady Spring is back in action Thursday in the Capital City Classic
