Hurricane A (224) finished third among the 33 schools represented across West Virginia, while Parkersburg South (231) was fourth and defending Class AA state champion Winfield (235) was fifth.
Cooper Ward led the Tigers with a round of two-under par 69 to tie Cabell Midland’s Jack Michael for low medalist honors in a field of 131 golfers.
Teammate Tyler Beard was one shot back of Ward in a three-way tie for third place with Lee Willard from George Washington and Stephen McDavid from Winfield.
Playing in his first high school golf match, Shady Spring freshman Grant Winkler recorded a 76 to finish tied for 11th-place. Jack Williams rounded out the Tigers with an 83.
