Beckley – Four different players scored for George Washington as the Lady Patriots beat Spring Mills 4-0 Friday morning in Beckley to advance to the Class AAA state title game.
Goals by Linsey Hackney and Reese Huffman in the 26th and 33rd minutes gave GW a 2-0 advantage heading into the break. Ava Trethewey and Deryn Doamekpor in the scored in the 46th and 75th minutes, respectively, to ice the game and send George Washington to Saturday’s title game where it will play defending champion Wheeling Park.
Spring Mills, making the trip from the eastern panhandle did not get a shot on goal in the loss.
