Shady Spring 6, James Monroe 1
Lindside – Nathan Vecellio recorded a hat trick Tuesday night to lead Shady Spring (7-1-1) past James Monroe 6-1.
Evan Rivera scored the first Tiger goal in the third minute on an assist from Garrett Meador. Vecellio followed in the 20th and 27th minute aided by assists from Micah Smith and Jorge Labato.
Peyton Gardinier hit a winner in the 32nd minute to put the Mavericks on the board before Vecellio found Smith for a goal to give the visitors a 4-1 lead at halftime.
Vecellio completed the hat trick in the 68th minute on an assist from Parker Lester. Smith scored his second goal of the contest when he connected with Vecellio in the 72nd minute of play for the final margin.
Shady Spring travels to PikeView Thursday for an 8 p.m. clash.

Hico – Midland Trail picked up its second win in the last three matches with a 2-1 triumph over Bluefield.
Rumor Barnhouse and Jodie Ward scored for the Patriots, while Mary McGraw collected 16 saves.
Taylor Maybry scored for the Beavers.
