Fairlea Greenbrier East split a doubleheader with Point Pleasant Saturday afternoon in Fairlea.
In Game 1 Lindsey Black went 2 for 4 with a home run while Aubrey Glover was a perfect 4 for 4 in a 7-5 loss.
In the second game Josi Ervin pitched a complete game, allowing just two runs in a 3-2 East win. Brooke Davis was stellar at the plate for the Lady Spartans in the second contest, going 2 for 3 and driving in two of her team’s three runs.
East improves to 4-3 and will travel to Oak Hill on Monday.
Beckley 12, MEGS, OH. 3
Beckley 1, South Charleston 0
South Charleston – Beckley improved 8-2 Saturday with a sweep of MEGS out of Ohio and regional foe South Charleston.
In the first Beckley defeated MEGS 12-3. Natalia Meade and Kayla Byrd finished 3 for 4 with the latter homering. Ava Mullins finished 2 for 4 with a double with Taylor Scott picking p the win.
In the second game freshman sensation Aubrey Smallwood pitched a one-hitter, striking out 17 in a 1-0 win. The lone run came in the second when Smallwood drove in Abby Wooton. Mullins paced Beckley going 2 for 4 against the Black Eagles.
Beckley will return to action Monday when it travels to Wyoming East.
Herbert Hoover 15, Wyoming East 1
Logan 10, Wyoming East 6
Chapmanville – Wyoming East dropped a doubleheader Saturday in Chaomanville, losing 15-1 to Herbert Hoover and 10-6 to Logan.
Against the Huskies East got off to a fast start when Paige Laxton crushed her seventh home run of the season but Hoover responded with the next 15 runs, capitalizing on six East errors.
In the second game the Lady Warriors pounded out six runs but struggled at times, leaving runners on base in every inning.
Still six different Lady Warriors collected multiple hits led by Savannah Brehm who went 3 for 4 and drove in three runs. Kayley Bane added a double and two RBIs in the loss.
East drops to 7-6 and will host Beckley on Monday.
