Beckley 4, George Washington 1
Charleston – Aubrey Small smacked a two-run homer and hurled a two-hitter to push the Flying Eagles past George Washington 4-1 Monday.
Smallwood ended the night with three RBIs and struckout 14 Patriots to give Beckley the regular season sweep.
Natalia Meade had two hits and an RBI in the win.
The lone GW run was unearned.
Mount View 8, Twin Valley, Va. 7 (9 innings)
Pilgrim’s Knob, Va. – Kelsey Bailey doubled home Shiann Carter in the top of the ninth inning to lift Mount View past Twin Valley, Va. 8-7 Monday.
Phoebe Dudgeon preserved the lead by striking out the side in the bottom of the ninth, giving her 15 K’s in the game. Dudgeon also had three hits, including a double and a triple, and an RBI for the Golden Knights.
Bailey drilled two doubles as part of her three-hit day and also drove home three runs.
Carter collected three hits and had an RBI, while Ty’Quashia Wray had a double and Kayleigh Rose had two hits along with a triple.
Greenbrier West 11, Webster County 0 (5 innings)
Greenbrier West 9, Webster County 1 (5 innings)
Crawley – Greenbrier West earned a doubleheader sweep over Webster County Monday. The Cavaliers took game one 11-0 and secured the sweep with a 9-1 in game two. Both games ended after five innings.
Brooke Patterson had a pair of doubles and drove in four runs to pace the Cavaliers (8-2). Hannah Sweet collected three hits and had two RBI.
Kyndall Taylor had a hit and two RBI, while Brooklyn Adkins had two hits. Brilee Redden allowed just one and struck-out 11 in the shutout win.
Sweet had three hits and three RBI in game two to lead the way. Redden smacked two doubles and had an RBI, while Julia Herndon had a double and an RBI as well.
Taylor earned the win in the circle allowing only two hits and striking out seven Highlanders.
Canfield Central 3, Bluefield 0
Myrtle Beach – Bluefield fell in its Myrtle Beach opener, losing to Canfield 3-0.
The Beavers were no-hit in the loss with Maddie Lawson and Abby Richardson drawing a walk each.
Izzy Smith struck out eight and allowed one earned run in the loss.
Elizabeth Seton 4, Princeton 3
Myrtle Beach – Princeton fell in its beach opener Monday, dropping an extra-inning decision 4-3 to Elizabeth Seton.
Emma Johnson led the Tigers with three hits and an RBI.
In the circle Johnson struck out 10 and allowed just one earned run.
