Myrtle Beach – Independence split a pair of games Thursday in Myrtle Beach.
Delaney Buckland tossed a complete-game shutout in the opener, a 4-0 Indy win against St. Jospeh Academy out of Ohio. Buckland fanned 13 in the win while Kendal Martin drove in a pair of runs.
In the second game Indy committed four errors in the loss.
Martin contributed three hits while Buckland added two, fanning 11 in the loss.
Greenbrier East 5, Wyoming East 4
Fairlea – Wyoming East couldn’t gain traction on offense Thursday, falling 5-4 at Greenbrier East.
Josi Ervin, Taylor Boswell and Lindsay Black notched two hits each in the win for the Spartans with Boswell launching a home run.
Haley Adkins led Wyoming East with two hits and an RBI while Kayley Bane drove in a run as well.
Princeton 3, Grundy Va. 0
Princeton 2, Grundy, Va. 1
Princeton – Princeton swept. Sapir of games against Grundy, Va. Thursday in Princeton, winning 3-0 and 2-1.
In the first game Peyton Agnew notched a pair of hits, driving in a run while Zoey Agnew added a hit and an RBI. Hayden Johnson picked up the win for the Tigers.
In the second game Emma Johnson picked up the win for the Tigers while Hayden Jones picked up two hits. Johnson and Jones each drove in a run in the win.
George Washington 13, Shady Spring 5
George Washington 11, Shady Spring 1
Charleston – Â Shady dropped a pair of home games to George Washington Thursday, falling 13-5 and 11-1 in Shady Sorung.
Brooklynn Blankenship smacked a home run in that loss.
In the second loss Blankenship had Shady’s only hit of the game with Avary Bragg taking the loss.
