Greenbrier East 10, Independence 4
Fairlea – In an error filled contest Greenbrier East overcame five of its own miscues to down Independence 10-4 Wednesday in Fairlea.
Coming off a 1-0, 15-inning loss on Tuesday, the visiting Patriots started fast scoring two runs in the top of the first before East answered with four straight.
A run each in the fourth and fifth inning tied the game before two from East in the bottom of the fifth broke the tie for good.
Taylor Boswell and Olivia Plybon led East with two hits, driving in two runs each.
Indy drops to 9-7 while East improves to 7-4 and will travel to Nicholas County on Thursday.
