Greenbrier West 3, James Monroe 1
Crawley – Greenbrier West scored two runs in the bottom fifth inning to secure a 3-1 win over James Monroe in game one of the Class A Region 3 tournament.
Brilee Redden picked up the win in the circle allowing only three hits and one run, while striking out 12 Mavericks.
Preslee Treadway had a double and an RBI and Redden helped her own cause with three hits and an RBI.
Madison Booth drove in the run for the visitors.
Game two moves to Lindside where West needs one win for the title in the best-of-3 series. James Monroe will need a win at home and a win back in Greenbrier County for the regional title.
