Liberty 9, Van 0 (5 innings)
The Raiders scored seven runs in the bottom of the second inning and went on to defeat Van 9-0 Thursday in five innings in Glen Daniel.
McKinlea Hill pitched a one-hit shutout to get the win in the circle, while Kanyon Green paced the offense by knocking in a pair of runs.
Josie Hartshorn drove in a run and had two hits including a triple. Hill helped her own cause with a triple and an RBI as well.
Keandra Spurlock, Kacie Fraley and Hailey Brown also had an RBI.
Princeton 8, Bluefield 3
Princeton – The Tigers took contrail early and never trailed in an 8-3 win over Mercer County rival Bluefield.
Cora Thornton smacked two doubles and drove in three runs to pace Princeton.
Grace Richardson hit a double and two singles for the Beavers, while Maddie Lawson collected two hits.
Hayden Jones picked up the win for the Tigers in the circle.
Shady Spring 13, Oak Hill 2 (5 innings)
The home-standing Tigers scored seven first-inning runs and benefits from several Oak Hill miscues to defeat the Red Devils 13-2 in five innings.
Kaylee Waddell and Mallie Lawson, who had three hits in the game, each hit a triple and drove in two runs to lead Shady Spring.
Kenidi Creager also drove in a pair of runs for the Tigers.
Addison Salvatore had two RBI for Oak Hill.
Tazewell, Va. 8, Wyoming East 0
Tazewell, Va – Tazewell ace Carly Compton mowed down Wyoming East, fanning 17 batters and allowing just one hit as the Bulldogs earned an 8-0 win over the Lady Warriors in Tazewell on Thursday.
Kayley Bane had the lone hit of the game for East, a double.
River View 24, Mount View 2
Welch – River View pounded out 14 hits in a 24-2 win over county foe Mount View Thursday in Welch.
Mileigh Goodman led the charge with three hits while Haylie Payne and Sarah Matney drive in three runs each for the Lady Raiders.
Keylee Lester earned the win in the circle.
