Bluefield – Bluefield opened up its season with a 7-1 victory against James Monroe Wednesday in Bluefield.
Cara Brown collected two hits, driving in three runs in the victor for the Beavers while Izzy Smith went the distance in the circle striking out nine.
Bryleigh Thomas collected James Monroe’s lone hit in the loss.
Greenbrier West 22, Summers County 0
Charmco – Greenbrier West opened the season with a win Wednesday, mercy-ruling Summers County 22-0 in three innings.
Ava Price collected five RBIs in the win including a home run.
Kyndal Taylor picked up the win in the circle for the Cavs.
Independence 12, Liberty 3
Coal City – Ali Hypes blasted a home run and drove in four total runs Wednesday a sIndependence opened the season with a 12-3 victory in Coal City.
Hypes was one of five Patriots to collect two hits each in the win.
Allie Bowles and Josie Hartshorn homered for Liberty in the loss.
Princeton 16, Montcalm 0
Princeton – Princeton put an 11-spot up in the first inning, cruising past Montcalm 16-0 in the first game of the season.
Emma Johnson struck out eight for the Tigers in the victory while Hayden Jones drove in a trio of runs.
Johnson and Abigail Jenkins finished with two RBIs each.
Oak Hill 12, Mount View 2 (5 innings)
Oak Hill – The Red Devils exploded for nine runs in the fourth inning to defeat Mount View 12-2 Wednesday.
Ava Emery collected three hits including a triple and drove in three runs, while Halee Jones also drove in three runs with a double and a single.
Alyssa Higginbotham and Sadie Branch also had doubles in the win.
K Bailey had a double for the Golden Knights.
Beckley 11, South Charleston 0 (4 innings)
South Charleston – Beckley ace Aubrey Smallwood held South Charleston without a hit over four innings and drove in three runs to lead the Flying Eagles to a 13-0 won over the Black Eagles Wednesday.
Kaitlyn Hamb also drove in three runs, while Sarah Hopkins ripped a triple and had two RBI.
Smallwood and Natalia Meade each hit a double and Kendall Dooley had two hits for Beckley.
