Fairlea – Delaney Buckland struck out 14 and allowed just one earned run as Independence improved to 2-0 with a 4-1 win at Greenbrier East.
The victory came at the expense of East ace Josi Ervin who matched Buckland with seven innings pitched but didn’t allow a single earned run in the loss.
Alli Hypes led the Patriots with two hits while four different East players collected one each.
