West Union – The Cavaliers went on the road Saturday and picked up wins over Doddridge County, 7-5, and Bridgeport 10-2 in five innings.
Preslee Treadway had three hits and three RBI in the win over the Bulldogs and Brilee Redden had a double. Redden picked up the win in the circle striking out eight.
Kyndall Taylor had two hits and two RBI along with the win over the Indians in the circle. Taylor allowed just two hits and zero earned runs to get the win.
Brooke Patterson collected two hits and had two RBI, while Julia Herndon smacked a double, a single and had one RBI. Jenna Hunter had a double for the Cavaliers.
Midland Trail 16, Charleston Catholic 1 (5 innings)
Midland Trail 23, Cross Lanes Christian 16 (5 innings)
Cross Lanes – Midland Trail swept a pair of games Saturday over Charleston Catholic, 16-1, and Cross Lanes Christian, 23-16. Both games were completed in five innings.
The Patriots scored in every inning to defeat the Irish.
Madison Rader had three hits, including a double, and drove in three runs. The freshman standout allowed just one hit in the circle and zero earned runs with eight strikeouts.
Jessi Skaggs, Nevaeh Hall and Trinity Wilson had two RBI each for Trail.
Hannah Beeson had a home run, a double and drove in five runs to lead the Patriots against Cross Lanes. Rader had two double, a single and two RBI, while Raygen Parsons had a double, a single and three RBI.
Hall had a triple, a double a single and two RBIÂ and Wilson collected three hits and three RBI.
Morgantown 5, Greenbrier East 4
University 10, Greenbrier East 7
Morgantown – Greenbrier East dropped both games of a doubleheader Saturday, 5-4 to Morgantown and 10-7 to University.
The Mohigans scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh to beat the Spartans who committed three crucial errors.
Lily Corola was the tough-luck loser allowing only three hits and one earned run, while hitting a double and driving in two runs. Taylor Boswell and Alanis McClary each had a triple.
Four more errors haunted East against the Hawks who scored four earned runs.
Kayla Bartley had a home run, a double and two RBI, while Boswell had a double and one RBI. McClary had two hits, including a double and Gracie Gumm had two hits.
Liberty 10, Wyoming East 9
Liberty built a 9-3 lead and held on to beat Wyoming East 10-9 Saturday.
Katie Mullens had a double, a single and two RBI, while Josie Hartshorn had two hits and two RBI to lead the Raiders. Maddie Cox hit a double and a single and Allie Bowles had two hits.
Alivia Monroe hit two doubles, two singles and one RBI, while Carli Raye smacked two doubles, a single and two RBI for the Warriors.
Freshman Olivia Vent added two singles, a double and had three RBI. Makinlei Hatfield and Miranda Matz also had doubles.
Beckley 15, Riverside 3 (5 innings)
Beckley 6, Princeton 1
Beckley never trailed in a 15-3 win over Riverside in five innings.
Aubrey Smallwood had a double, a single and four RBI to lead the Flying Eagles. Brooke Bird, Natalia Meade and Taylor Scott had two hits and two RBI each. Scott and Kacie Fraley had doubles.
Scott also picked up the win in the circle.
In the nightcap Smallwood scattered seven hits, fanning 11 Tigers and allowed zero earned runs.
Meade had a double and two RBI, while Scott had a double and one RBI. Kyndall Dooley had a double and a single. Bird and Kacie Fraley had two hits each. Fraley and Sarah Hopkins each had an RBI.
Riverside 8, Princeton 0
Princeton struggled in the field and at the plate Saturday, falling 8-0 to Riverside.
The Tigers committed five errors in the field in the loss.
Riley Riggs was one of four Tigers with a hit, collecting a double.
