James Monroe 12, Greenbrier West 11
Lindside – James Monroe scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning and rallied for a 12-11 win over Greenbrier West.
Shannon Phipps, Brylie Thomas, Haley Hunicutt and Kaydence Weikle each had two hits for the Mavericks.
Phipps’ two-run homer in the bottom of the seventh delivered James Monroe the win.
Phipps hit a double, a home run and drove in two runs, while Hunicutt and Weikle each had a double and two RBI. Thomas and Emily Bailey drove in two runs and Madison Vass smacked a triple.
Brooke Nutter had three hits for Greenbrier West including a double and a triple. Karli Holliday hit a double and drove in two runs. Bralee Brown added a pair of singles and had an RBI.
Both teams are back in action Wednesday. James Monroe hosts Mount View, while Greenbrier West travels to Woodrow Wilson.
