Wyoming East 16, Liberty 2
Glen Daniel – Wyoming East scored runs in every inning, earning a 16-2 win over Liberty Thursday evening at Liberty.
Kayley Bane, Emma Simpson and Savannah Brehm all notched three hits and two doubles each with Brehm and Simpson driving in four runs apiece. Paytin Brehm picked up her second win of the season in the circle, pitching all five innings.
Wyoming East improves to 2-0 and will host James Monroe on Friday.
Princeton 6, James Monroe 5
Princeton – Riley Riggs and Zoey Agnew notched three hits each Thursday as Princeton improved to 1-1 with a 6-5 win against James Monroe in Princeton.
Agnew drove in a run and added a double in the win while Hayden Jones picked up the win in the circle with 10 strikeouts in a complete-game effort.
Haley Hunnicutt drove in two runs for James Monroe in the loss.
Independence 2, Nicholas County 0
Coal City – Delaney Buckland fire a three-hit shutout Thursday, striking out 13 as Independence notched a 2-0 win over Nicholas County in Coal City.
Alli Hypes and Kendall Martin notched two hits each with Martin smacking a home run, tying the team’s 2022 total.
Emma Lilly accounted for the Patriots’ other hit in the win.
