Shady Spring – Herbert Hoover, Shady Spring and Greenbrier East were ranked two, three and four in Class AAA, respectively, in the latest coaches poll.
After Thursday’s results the Tigers may be moving on up.
Shady toppled Greenbrier East 2-0 and Hoover 2-1 in a try-match of Class AAA powers Thursday evening at Shady Spring.
The Tigers walked away with a 2-0 win over East, taking the first set 25-22 and second 25-17. Beating the second-ranked Huskies proved more challenging but the Tigers still pulled through 2-1 with wins of 25-21 and 16-14. Hoover won its lone set 25-23.
Hoover did split on the night, sending East home empty-handed.
The Huskies toppled East 25-22 and 15-13 in the third set. East’s lone victorious set of the night came in its second against Hoover, a 25-22 victory.
