RAINELLE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A property dispute leads to a man being shot and killed in Rainelle.
On Sunday, August 4, 2024, at around 12:27 p.m., the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Department responded to a shooting incident in the Rainelle area of Greenbrier County.
The shooting stemmed from a property dispute involving three people, one of whom, Travis Osborne, 46, of Rainelle, sustained gunshot wounds. Mr. Osborne was taken to a medical facility outside the area, where he later died from his injuries.
The crime scene was processed by the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Department Crime Scene Team, with assistance from the West Virginia State Police and Greenbrier County EMS.
The Sheriff’s Department is in discussions with the Greenbrier County Prosecuting Attorney, and the findings of the investigation will be presented to that office. Deputy Herman Rodriguez is leading the investigation.
