CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) — The Public Service Commission of West Virginia approved Monday a five-year settlement concerning pipeline replacement and upgrades for Mountaineer Gas Co.
Mountaineer Gas petitioned the Commission on July 31 to approve its 2025 Infrastructure Replacement and Expansion Program (IREP).
The company proposed to invest $418 million in infrastructure replacement, system upgrades and expansion for the period ended in 2029, including $74 million of that in 2025. The application also included $2 million in under-recovery costs on earlier work.
The cost to the average user’s monthly bill will be $2.63, a 2.97 percent increase. Commercial users will see an increase of $6.92 a month, or 2.03. The Commission said the rates would be effective on January 1, 2025.
The company said it believes the proposal “will strengthen its distribution system and, over time, created really operational and safety benefits for its customers throughout the state.”
A hearing scheduled for November 4 was canceled.
