CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Public Service Commission of West Virginia has scheduled a virtual and in person public comment hearing and an evidentiary hearing for June 17 on a $250.5 million rate increase filed last year by Appalachian Power Co. and Wheeling Power Co.
The evidentiary hearing in the case starts that day at 9 a.m. and the public comment hearing begins at 5:30 p.m., both are to be held at PSC headquarters at 201 Brooks St., Charleston.
Those who wish to participate in the public comment hearing should register with the Commission by 4 p.m. on June 16. The Commission has set aside three days for taking evidence in this general rate increase case filed November 1, 2024, after the Commission rejected an earlier filing from the companies. They are proposing an increase of 14.6 percent.
