CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Public Service Commission of West Virginia has scheduled a virtual and in-person public comment hearing on December 15 for two rate cases filed by West Virginia-American Water Co.
In May, the company requested approval for a $46 million increase in water rates and a $1.4 million increase in sewer rates. The company proposes implementing the increases in two phases: addendum period 1, effective March 2026; and addendum period 2, effective March 2027.
An evidentiary hearing on the cases began Wednesday and was scheduled to continue through Thursday. The public comment hearing will begin at 5:30 p.m. on December 15 at PSC headquarters at 201 Brooks St., Charleston.
Those who wish to participate in the public comment hearing should register with the Commission by 4 p.m. on December 12.
