PRINCETON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – WVU Medicine Princeton Community Hospital (PCH) is proud to announce that Rainbow Pediatrics, located in Beaver, WV, will be joining its network of healthcare clinics. This partnership marks an exciting milestone: it will become PCH’s second pediatrics clinic and its first clinic in Raleigh County. The collaboration is currently undergoing the necessary approvals and is projected to be finalized in the first half of 2025.
Once completed, PCH Rainbow Pediatrics will continue to provide exceptional care with the same trusted team, welcoming both existing and new patients. Through its integration with PCH and WVU Medicine, families will gain access to West Virginia’s leading network of pediatric specialists, ensuring comprehensive and seamless care close to home.
Dr. John Fernald, MD, who founded Rainbow Pediatrics, will continue as its primary physician. Fernald, with more than 22 years of experience in pediatrics, is a 2001 graduate of the East Carolina University Brody School of Medicine and served in the Army in Iraq. He is well-known for his dedication to the health and well-being of his patients.
“This partnership represents our commitment to expanding access to high-quality pediatric care for families in southern West Virginia,” said PCH President and CEO Karen Bowling. “We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Fernald and the outstanding Rainbow Pediatrics team into the WVU Medicine family.”
“WVU Medicine is a highly respected health system that is leading the way in improving the quality of care throughout our state,” said Fernald. “My staff and I are eager to embrace the opportunities this partnership will bring to our patients.”
The addition of PCH Rainbow Pediatrics will build PCH’s ability to provide comprehensive healthcare services to families in its 10-county service region.
