RAINELLE, WV (LOOTPRESS)— A Greenbrier County man was taken into custody after allegedly brandishing a gun and threatening to kill multiple people during a domestic disturbance Friday night.
According to the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to 274 2nd Street in Rainelle at about 10:54 p.m. on August 10, 2025, after dispatch received reports of an armed man making threats.
Members of the Rainelle Fire Department, located across the street, told deputies they saw the suspect — identified as Rocky Lee Davis Jr. — come outside with a firearm and say he was going to “shoot and kill everyone.” Witnesses also reported seeing him retrieve the gun from his vehicle and chamber a round.
Deputy D.J. Staley located Davis entering an apartment at the address. Davis complied with commands, was detained without incident, and a Smith & Wesson M&P Shield pistol was recovered from inside the residence.
A woman at the scene told investigators Davis was her boyfriend and had held the gun to his own head during an argument, threatening to kill himself. She said he made no threats toward her directly.
Seven fire department witnesses provided statements confirming they heard Davis’ threats and saw him handle the weapon.
