BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Sheriff Frank Priddy has announced that Raleigh County deputies will soon step up to the plate in a special event with the Challenger baseball teams.
The game, set for May 24 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Beckley Little League Field #1, will feature deputies playing alongside athletes from the Little League Challenger Division—an adaptive baseball program designed for individuals with physical and intellectual challenges.
Sheriff Priddy said deputies are honored to take the field with the “amazing athletes of the Challengers baseball teams!”
Sgt. B.J. Adkins recently met several of the Challenger athletes during a Community Relations event at the same field. “We’re really looking forward to this event,” said Sgt. Adkins.
“It’s a great opportunity to connect with the community, have some fun with the athletes, and showcase a few of our cruisers for everyone to check out. We encourage everyone to come out, support this wonderful program, and enjoy a great day together.”
Admission to the event is free and open to the public.
Sheriff Priddy and Chief Deputy Frankie Shelton extended thanks to those who help make these events possible, and expressed appreciation for the continued support from Raleigh County citizens.
